Our summer camp concluded just a week ago, and I am thrilled to share a short video that beautifully captures the essence of our time together in Visegrád.

It was truly heartwarming to welcome students from various countries across Europe, reflecting the growing interest in Chow Gar across the continent.

The Unique Experience of Our Summer Camp

The summer camp is always a special highlight for us. Spanning an entire week with three training sessions each day, it offers an immersive experience focused on intensive development.

The Serene and Historical Environment of Visegrád

Visegrád is a historical part of Hungary, located in the north, near the Slovakian border.

The Danube River serves as a natural border, creating one of the most picturesque areas in the country with its famous Danube Bend. Visegrád has served for centuries as a royal governing center of Hungary.

Training under the castle's shadow, we can feel the touch of history and the power of nature, surrounded by hills and framed by the Danube.

Heaven, Earth, and Water embrace us, while the fire within us ignites during our training sessions.

A Typical Day at Our Summer Camp

Morning Session: We begin our day under the linden trees with gentle exercises that help us warm up and center our minds.

First Training: After a hearty breakfast and some relaxation, we dive into a 1.5-hour session. This session combines soft and hard techniques, foundational practice, and strengthening forms.

Lunch: We refuel with delicious Hungarian cuisine, offering much more than just the well-known goulash.

Afternoon Session: This session focuses on technical aspects, including forms, pair exercises (chongs), and conditioning.

Evening: In the evening, it is time for socializing after a tough day of intense work.

We enjoy cooking together, engaging in discussions about kung fu, martial arts, and life in general. We share personal stories, experiences, laughter, and make bonds.

This is how a brotherhood emerges from these camps, creating a fun and enriching environment.

The Journey of Intensive Practice

It is important to understand the power and importance of such events, like a camp or workshop.

In anything in life where we want to go beyond the average or standard, we need dedication, focus, and intensity.

In such an environment, the circumstances to reach our limits are given.

One must have the chance and time to calm down and go deep, to get to the core from where we can build something strong.

Our goal is to delve deep into the system, focusing on the small details that make a significant difference in practice.

The journey includes pushing ourselves to our limits, often by mid-week, and then experiencing a rebirth from the tiredness, emerging stronger and more focused.

It’s essential to go through these stages, to feel how the teachings and practice can profoundly impact you, supported by good guidance and great partners.
